You're absolutely right "The disastrous reality of raising teens is that you have zero control and total responsibility." That's what I remember about those years too.
I am trying to push out one of my emerging adults these days and I agree that it's harder than the birthing. My kid also did the thing with the apple-pipe (although she left it on the counter rather than going as far as putting it back in the bowl), and she also keeps pushing my ability to ignore things I'd rather not have to address. I love your writing and I'm glad I somehow found you.
Hello, I’m glad and sorry at the same time thar you found this piece relatable. I knew there were more of us out there! Godspeed. It’s all over before you know it.
wow. You are an incredible writer. My kid threw his phone through one of my paintings once on his way to the bathroom, I think. But your lives are way more interesting.
Wow. The wind stories I believe. (the other ones too)
I once saw that video of a plane taking off (or landing?) in an Alaskan wind storm. The plane was flying into the gale and was floating above one spot on the ground.
Small planes can fly backwards in high enough wind!! It’s crazy. We used to have a Cessna 170B (my husband’s a pilot). Glad I never experienced flying backwards first hand, but we had a lot of other hare brained adventures.
What an incredible write, Stella!

Stay safe❣️
How DID we survive?! 💀 Thank you so much, Veronika. I really appreciate you reading my work.
with fear & sweat 😰 and calling upon all the guardian angels 😅
It's my pleasure to meet you here 🙏
For sure! Nice to meet you, too!!
Gads, this is brilliant! Where did we go wrong with our kids? The adventures were not nearly so “colorful”.
Hi Will! Thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️
As for the kids, and the $64,000 question, all I know is: humans are messy.
We muddle through somehow. Stay cozy up in the frozen northland.

Oy! Kids! Hardest job in the world. I’m so sorry to hear about your painting. Thanks so much for reading and responding.
It was a one off and the painting wasn't my best one. I tried to mend it so now it looks like a painting with a bit of crochet at the top.
Scars from a massive growth period....

Hi, thank you! I am sure whatever shite we’ve contended with does not diminish the things you’re struggling through. Thanks a bunch for reading.
