cajuns also know how to live! . . . i noticed that many of the restaurants have dance floors and live bands . . . like Lee Benoit . . . smooth singer he is!
you've got zydeco and cajun dancing and i'm particularly fond of the cajun jitterbug, which, when done properly, is a very intricate, fun and beautiful form of dance.
Ah low hanging Spanish Moss gets me every time. This was a lovely trip down a rabbit hole and everything you describe makes perfect sense. People there know what the hell they are doing.
Thanks Stella. I like the tone of your article. I get how you feel and how it is around you, and for the chickens. I took care of baby chicks once, when their mother moved onto our land. Can't say I really took care. She did all the work, but I talked to my cat about them. Don't eat, I said.
Good luck on the 26th. I will be thinking of you and holding space.
Sounds a beautiful area to visit. The festivities are out of the box! We've never made it to Mardi Gras but Faquetaique Courir de Mardi Gras sounds fun also! Thanks for your post, Stella. (I secretly like picking up trash so I'd be good!)
Thank you for reading and responding. I just came in from a couple hours of trash pick up, myself. Someone from the news stopped to film me. Yeah- big news! People picking up trash instead of throwing it on the ground!
Sounds sort of fun. But it’s a shame that modern-day festivals trigger mass overconsumption - ‘Trash Wednesday’ etc. Hopefully that’ll change soon though.
Hi James, Yes, those kind of events do not bring me joy, knowing that all that CRAP is going to end up in the gulf. It's too sad. I'm glad there are healthier ways to go have fun. I'm afraid I am a bit pessimistic about the habits of mass consumerism. I doubt that overconsumption will change until we run out of things to consume. One can hope, I guess! Anyway, thanks for reading.
Sending well wishes for your surgery ❤️
Thank you, Jennifer ♥️
oh those crazy cajuns . . . but i love their music and their jitterbug
We definitely get some dancing done down here!

Thank you for the positive feedback Kelly! I think Cajun chickens just know they’re doomed.

Sadly, you're so right - neurotic patterns of work and consumption etc. 😞 Have a great week. ✨️
Thank YOU, J.R. I appreciate it!
