Holy smokes! (Not sacred cigarettes of the tobacco kind) You’ve been breathing the same air as I and I’ve just made your acquaintance. I favor such old expressions at times. 74 might put that in context.

In short I enjoyed this sample of your being. Doing. Pondering. Living. I look forward to reading future posts along with some backtracking to earlier ones.

Wow!

I’d like to add that walk you took north of Lafayette brought to mind Pileated Woodpeckers. In turn I reflected on their successful adaptation to “civilization” while the Ivory Billed Woodpecker is most likely extinct. Similar body shapes, similar coloring, and possibly shared habitat before capitalism began clear cutting the world. The former’s ability to adapt - a possible evolutionary gene edit. The latter, to me, represents being a bell weather of the of its ecosystem. Not unlike so many other extinct species. Is science the answer? Ha-ha-ha. Now they are trying to resurrect a small T_Rex. Let’s make the entire world Jurassic Park. I’m certain that AI will not want to produce a breeding pair. Feigning optimism over Earth’s fate requires too many mental gymnastics.

Picture buffalo being stampeded over cliffs by the “right kind” of people. For the betterment of all. As you can see I can be a real downer for a perfectly good day. Not all the time.

This is the only way to live life right now - with the do not disturb sign on. Until something resonates at that frequency that feels safe. Thankyou

Is some journey you're on. Is a powerful dream about the neonates. Surely they have some messages for you; maybe it's about being held. Beautiful writing. Am a caregiver too and you are your patient too! Thanks Stella Lyn.

I get up at all hours too. I am with you on that. Don't take care of anybody (unless it's your kid and he's at risk, then email or text, or text someone who promises to get it to him) There is a general toxicity in some places.

My shoulder started to really hurt and it was from carrying too much. The antidote was to start writing about someone who really hurt me, and publish it. I can't say for sure but I think my shoulder is better. Walking away from everybody's ideologies which is false consciousness I learned and examined some of mine, is what is going on for me. There is some proper bs out there.

I like your writing and you pose interesting questions.

Thank you, Kelly. Yes! Beware the proper BS. It abounds, for sure.

I am sorry to hear of your breaststroke crying out in pain. I will keep you in my prayers. Retiring shingles you worked hard to hang - it seems like something we do as we approach a mid life crisis.
